The Friends of Ivy House are raising vital funds to support Ivy House School based in Littleover, Derby.
The aim is to raise £5,000 to be able to apply for charitable status which will create additional opportunities for funding and therefore continue to make a huge impact on the lives of students in the school.
Ivy House is a 2-19 special school working with students who have severe, complex and profound learning disabilities.
Ivy House has a happy, supportive and purposeful environment where pupils are nurtured, praised and acknowledged for who they are, the skills they acquire and the tasks they accomplish.
Pupils love to come to school. They are justifiably proud of what they achieve and enjoy celebrating not only their own successes but also those of their friends and other peers from across the school.
Ivy House has a highly motivated, professional and well trained team of staff who work collaboratively with parents, carers and other professionals to ensure that all aspects of the schools offer meet the needs of each pupils.
Ivy House truly prides itself on being a school that is;
Working together to Inspire, Nurture & Empower
which is crucial to the nurture and development of the whole child.
The Friends of Ivy House believe it is the right of every student in the school to be able to access a range of trips and visits that are open to every child. However, there are unique challenges for our students to get out in the community. Due to requiring multiple wheelchair accessible vehicles for a single class to get out of school, nursing support, high staff to student ratios and any place students visit must have be fully accessible and have a changing places bathroom. Therefore, we are raising funds to be able to support our students to get out and experience the same things and have the same opportunities that are open to all children and young people.
