Help Bring The Cellphone Situation to Life!
Hi, my name is Vincent Prograce, and I’m a filmmaker from Boulder Creek, California. As a Cinematic Arts student at California State University Monterey Bay, I am thrilled to share my senior thesis project with you: The Cellphone Situation.
This short film is deeply personal and explores themes of anxiety, desperation, and resilience. It tells the story of Marcell, a jobless recluse anxiously awaiting a phone call for a job opportunity that could change his life. As his phone’s battery dwindles and the call doesn’t come, Marcell spirals into an emotional breakdown, battling both external challenges and his inner turmoil.
The inspiration for this film comes from a universally relatable experience—the anxiety of waiting for something important. My goal is to evoke a visceral reaction from the audience, creating a story that is not only thrilling but also deeply human.
Why I Need Your Help
This project is more than a graduation requirement—it’s the next step in my journey as a filmmaker. To bring The Cellphone Situation to life, I need your support to cover essential production costs, including:
• Meals for the dedicated cast and crew ~$150-$200
• Props and set design to create a compelling visual world ~$900-$1100
• Compensation for the talented actors who will bring Marcell’s story to life ~$350
• Equipment rentals to achieve high-quality production ~$1300-$1600
Every contribution, no matter the size, will go directly toward making this film a reality. Your generosity will help me create a piece of art that I can proudly share as I step into the film industry.
What You’ll Get in Return
As a thank-you for your support, contributors will be mentioned in the film’s credits and kept updated with behind-the-scenes content during production. Each contributor will receive access to view the film while it is in the film festival circuit and unavailable to the public.
