Fund Staples High School's Robotics Team!
Hi Westport,
We're the RoboWreckers, a team of passionate students who want to bring Staples High School (SHS) back into the landscape of competitive robotics. In order to achieve this, we need your help!
Competitive robotics presents a unique opportunity: it allows passionate students interested in STEM to form substantive relationships, take leadership positions, and improve their engineering skills to produce an impressive display of technology that they can call their own.
As you can imagine though, starting a robotics team is no easy task... it's very expensive! To truly succeed, we need:
- Structural components like aluminum and steel
- Electronic components like motors and sensors
- Machines like miter saws, CNC mills, and rotary tools
- And software like SOLIDWORKS and Fusion 360 (for design)
With our expertise and these materials, we'll be capable of competing and standing out in the First Tech Challenge (FTC), an international robotics competition that attracts ~4000 teams yearly.
Four years ago, the world-renowned competitive robotics team for SHS collapsed. They were previously the 2nd best in the world, outshining the other 3,999 teams and planting Staples in international acclaim.
