Fund Winnie’s service training
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Sierra , and I’m living with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), a form of dysautonomia that affects my heart rate, blood pressure, and ability to stand or move without sudden symptoms like dizziness, fainting, fatigue, and brain fog. It impacts every aspect of my daily life—from working to simply walking across a room.
After consulting with medical professionals and support networks, I’ve decided to pursue a trained medical alert dog to help manage my condition. These incredible service animals can detect episodes before they become dangerous, alert me to sit or lie down, fetch help, provide stability while walking, and even interrupt episodes of anxiety related to sudden POTS flares.
The cost of a fully trained medical alert dog can range from $10,000 to $30,000, which includes training, vet care, transportation, and handler support. Insurance doesn’t cover service animals, and as much as I wish I could do this on my own, I need help from my community to make it happen.
This dog would be more than a companion—it would be a lifeline to independence, safety, and peace of mind. If you’re able to donate, share, or just spread the word, I would be endlessly grateful.
Thank you for being part of this journey with me.
With love and hope,
Sierra
