Funding a Classroom in Soyapango, El Salvador

My name is Jack Rothacker, a 21-year-old junior, majoring in Spanish & entrepreneurship at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, N.C. I am the founder of the non-profit Perseverancia (Spanish for "perseverance") which focuses on working with partners in Central America to provide resources and opportunities for underserved children in need. I am fundraising through my registered 501(c)(3), Perseverancia, to build three classrooms and fill it with school materials for the Juan Calvino school located in Soyapango, El Salvador (https://www.facebook.com/liceojuan.calvino?mibextid=cejktS). I took inspiration from a mission trip in June of 2023 where I learned all about the country. Our goal is to build up the country's educational system and infrastructure. The Juan Calvino school is a private school that has kindergarten through sixth grades, but currently, they cannot offer classes or youth services for students who should be attending seventh, eighth or ninth grade. Currently, students will leave after sixth grade and never come back to their education, which exposes these young kids to gang violence potentially contributing to the high incarceration rate.

I started this because I want to start a movement of motion, exemplifying to my generation what can be done for the world. I want to challenge the limits set and continue to partner with countries across Central America to give them a voice. This is just my current mission, however it does not end here. We will continue working day in and out to help change the lives and direction of the most vulnerable, even within communities in the US, as no young life should be wasted and all should have access to education. My goal is to raise this money to help children get a strong education with the resources and opportunities they need to reach their highest potential.

Once we accomplish this goal I plan to fly down to hand deliver the final check to start the construction of this class, I will also post updates to all who supported this movement so you can see and feel work we are doing.

I would also ask that you please share this movement with anyone that you think could help in our mission as every penny helps. Changing the world only happens when we all stand up for something that matters, something with meaning and purpose, something that is bigger than any one person, and it all starts with us. Thank you for your support!
