Funding for a potential record breaking Mount Everest summit

Donation protected
My name is Charlie Field and I am currently 18 years old from the United Kingdom.
Growing up in the countryside led to me always out and about on various hikes and adventures. However, I always yearned for the true adventure of a lifetime, at 5 years old I discovered Mount Everest while reading a book on extreme and remote places on Earth and I was instantly hooked on the thought of overcoming the extreme challenges the mountain possesses and standing on the tallest height the world offers.

I plan to attempt my summit in the 2026 season at age 20, This attempt would set a new record for the youngest British person to successfully summit Mount Everest beating the current holder Jake Meyers (21 years and 4 months) by roughly 9 months at approximately 20 years and 5 months old.

However, to complete such a mammoth achievement I need you.

Everest expeditions are no cheap feat, and combined with the need to purchase gear and fund a rigorous training regimen, supplementing all the costs by myself is impossible. I'm calling on every person who sees this to pledge even a small amount as each penny counts and puts me closer to the position to write a new page into the history books.

The expedition itself costs £37,310.19 and is roughly half of the money needing raising. This encompasses the trek into Everest Base Camp and the subsequent ascent and descent of the mountain along with costs for Sherpas and oxygen masks and cylinders.

The costs of training beforehand work out to £30,000. This consists of many climbing, abseiling and winter courses to ensure 100% competency when the date of the expedition arrives. I also plan on undertaking the summits of some other lower-altitude peaks such as Mont Blanc, Kilimanjaro and Expeditions to the Scottish Highlands during the winter months.

The remaining £12,689.81 will be used to purchase all of the necessary gear to undertake and withstand the brutal conditions Everest throws at you. With much of it being purpose-built for high-altitude climbs, this also means much of the equipment is rather expensive however the gear is vital to survival, and cutting costs for cheaper gear could put my life in jeopardy as well as the other climbers on the expedition with me.

Each person who pledges has my utmost thanks and respect, without you this whole project would simply be a pipe dream never realized, and thanks to you, We may be able to make this happen.

I plan to regularly update you all on the progress of my training and other things related to the climb here on Kickstarter, it's your money you contributed so you all deserve to be kept in the loop with the latest developments.

Each pledger who donates over £10 will also have their name written onto items of clothing and gear such as bags and water bottles. This way even though you may not be able to share the summit with me in person, spiritually I can take all of you to the top of the world.

Thank you once again for making my dreams a possibility.
