Funding for Fergus’ mum and dad

Hi all, I’m Fergus’ dad Chris, for the last 4 months Fergus has been in Leicester Royal Infirmary and the last 6 weeks Fergus has been really unwell resulting in Fergus being in CICU on a ventilator twice. There was a cardiac arrest call put out for him and he was put on a ventilator 2 weeks before Christmas and came off a couple of days before Christmas Day, on the 2nd January he had to be put back on the ventilator as his breathing started to deteriorate and at one out was touch and go. Resulting in myself being with him and his mum at the hospital and unable to work. In the last 12 months Fergus has been in Leicester for 9 of them with multiple visits to the Amazon ward in Peterborough.

Fergus isn’t your normal 4 year old child and has spent most of his life in and out of hospital. Fergus has been diagnosed with:

3p deletion syndrome, Hirschsprung disease, global development delay, PEG in situ, Left eye iris colobomas, bilateral chroriorental coloboma, Epileptic Encephalopathy, Epilepsy, Laryngomalacia and shortened aryepiglottic folds, Oxygen use for when asleep or having naps 0.2L. NPA (nasopharyngeal airway) in situ.

Currently the doctors cannot give any indication of when this nightmare will end even though Fergus is showing signs of improvement there is still a long way to go with multiple surgeries before he can start to recover fully, this stay could be his longest and could be up to a year before he will be able to return to some sort of normality before his next stay in hospital.

As a family we are really struggling to be all together as Fergus’ older brother lives with his mum he only gets to see Fergus possibly once a week for a couple of hours before he gets too emotional seeing his brother attached to all the machines.

I would just like to raise a bit of money so we don’t have to worry about any financial problems that may come up.

We will be donating part of the money raised to The Fergus Foundation, CICU here at Leicester, Ward 11 his home away from home and The Amazon Ward back in Peterborough.
