Melissa's Hip Replacement Recovery Fund

Hey Friends!

I am getting a total hip replacement on April 10th, 2023. I have

severe degenerative bone and cartilage damage in my right hip. Not

only is this extremely painful, it will only get worse without

intervention. As some of you might imagine, I'm not exactly prepared for having a total hip replacement on April 10th.

The opportunity to have ongoing, debilitating pain resolved and be

back to some normalcy in life is one I feel blessed to have. I have

been suffering with this ongoing pain for over five years, and it has

not only severely restricted my activity level, it requires me to

constantly negotiate my activity level versus my pain and how much

time it will take me to recover.

At the urging of my partner, my physical therapist, and my closest

friends and family ... I'm going to have the surgery.

The surgery was originally scheduled months from now. An opening in

the surgeon's schedule arose. I've been advised to take it now and

deal with this pain so I can return to a normal life.

However (you might have guessed this), I am not financially prepared

for the total hip replacement happening on April 10th.

I was hoping to create some savings before the original surgery date.

With the surgery now scheduled for April 10, I've created this

GoFundMe in order to offset living expenses during my recovery.

Your material contribution will help cover my share of living expenses

in my household as well as physical therapy and recovery equipment.

There's generally great success with this procedure, but I have been

advised to expect six months to a year for a full recovery.

I'm grateful for anything you are able to donate. Your contributions
