Help a Mobile Generation Take the Tools of Justice
and Peace and Put Them into Action
Right now, a new generation is fired up and ready to act for peace and justice. These future leaders have no shortage of passion and energy. What they need--what we’d all benefit from--is an easy to use, mobile-friendly, responsive website. This will help bring us all together and help equip us for meaningful action.
An incredibly creative faith-based group has the experience and expertise to provide those tools and is ready to take a big step forward: An all new website using the latest technology will create access for people using cell phones and tablets. We are committed to providing an easy to navigate, platform neutral website that will automatically respond to the window size on any smartphone, tablet, laptop or desktop computer. This will allow us to deliver the content in an easy to read and easy to navigate format without resorting to zooming or delivering reduced content to mobile devices.
A little background on this group, Lutheran Peace Fellowship:
We're a non-profit organization with a long history of offering a wide range of expertise and support, and a wealth of unique resources that anyone can use to be more effective in making this a more just and peaceful world. Over 100 are available and can be explored at www.Lutheranpeace.org .
Could you help? Some of what we would like to make more accessible includes:
· “Peace Points" – A dozen leader’s guides for youth or adult group discussions. Each provides engaging activities, helpful handouts, and savvy tips for leaders. (We've shared thousands of them!)
· “What Brings Security?” – Our acclaimed computer activity that illuminates the deeply distorted U.S. defense and social priorities. The result is a powerful, easy-to-present youth or adult forum with participatory handouts and leaders guide. LPF computer activities have been used in over 72,000 public school classrooms and church forums.
· “The Path of Hope" – A graphic summary of more than 150 movements and heroes who successfully brought about peace and social change by nonviolent means, throughout history and in every part of the world. Ten activities help explore them.
These and other resources have gotten raves from Lutheran group leaders in every part of the country, as well as leaders from a dozen other religious denominations.
Our goal is to raise $9,000 to cover the expenses of creating this new, amazingly useful website. Your support is greatly appreciated. Please help spread the word about this effort with friends and family via Facebook and other social media, email, notes and in conversation.
Thank you for your support!
