Funding for the Gibb challenge in Australia.

Hi my name is Michael,
In May of this year, I will be undertaking a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I will be taking part in the Gibb Cycle Challenge, I will be doing this as part of a small Team. The Cycle is a distance of 660km across the remote Kimberly region of Western Australia. The event raises money for the Royal Flying Doctors Service.
As most people know I work for Sunnydown school in Caterham. Sunnydown School supports students with different communication needs as well as Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia and Dyspraxia. . Two of the students that attend sunnydown will also be completing the Gibb Challenge, this is something that I think is extremely empowering. Myself and two other members of staff will be supporting the students, I will be doing the videoing and capturing all of the shots for the trip as well as participating in the cycling.
Sunnydown completes its own cycle challenge each year. The most recent cycle challenge raised an astonishing £35,000. The money was used to provide mental health support to local Primary schools by investing in a Learning Space Practitioner. Each school will have a whole term with a Learning space practitioner. This has been very successful so far.
This trip is very special to me and something that I did not think I would be able to do. In 2021 I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma, to say that my world fell apart is an understatement. I underwent 7 long months of chemotherapy at the Royal Marsden and I am so thankful to say it saved me. Since going through this I have done everything in my power to give back and give everything my all. I have raised money for the Teenage Cancer Trust and the Michael Palin centre by making documentaries and regularly visiting the Hospital. I now see life as a big adventure and want to take this opportunity and make it the best one yet!
To do this I have been asked to do fundraising. I know that financially things are very hard right now but any little help will be greatly appreciated.
I will post all videos and pictures captured for everyone to see and enjoy.
This trip will be raising money for mental health awareness too.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart x
