Funding for the New Acadia Project
Tax deductible
Want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money to benefit the Acadian Heritage & Culture Foundation Inc, and any donation will make an impact. I am looking to fund the New Acadia Project, originally started in 2013, which is supported by the University of Louisiana at Lafayette archeology department under the leadership of Dr. Mark Rees. We have located the first settlement of the Acadian people on Bayou Teche in Loreauville, Louisiana. This settlement dates back to 1765 after the Acadian Deportation from Canada by the British. The project funds field and historical research which seeks the World Heritage Site designation, given by UNESCO, for the Acadiana area and its incredible story.
More information about Acadian Heritage & Culture Foundation Inc and The New Acadia Project to Educate Public About Traditional Cajun Folk Culture can be found at the acadian museum's website.
