On February 10th, my 8 year old daughter was violently tackled three times and dragged into the boys bathroom at Herrmann Elementary, in Sparta, WI, by a 9 year old male student. A teacher heard my daughter's screams and intervened immediately. He received a 5 day suspension. During his suspension, he sexually assaulted a 4 year old girl in daycare. I tried to get on the agenda for our district school board, but were told that there is no law about sexual assault being grounds for immediate expulsion in any school in Wisconsin, so I couldn't be added to the agenda. Because of his age, we aren't able to press charges. I am raising money to hire a lawyer to protect the victim's rights while we change the law, so that sexual assault committed by a student, whether inside or outside of school, should be grounds for immediate removal and intervention for the offender in all Wisconsin schools.
