Funding Napurrula's Homecoming
Donation protected
Hi, My name is Nartarsha Napanagka Bamblett, a Yorta Yorta, Kurnai, Wiradjuri and Warlpiri woman. I am a descendant of a long, rich and deep bloodline of First Nations people, culture and history. I am here to capture the story with a film of my grandmother who is a survivor of the Stolen Generation amongst the thousands of children who were forcibly removed. Only a small number are still alive today to tell their story. This is my chance to make sure my grandmother's life of dispossession, loss and heartache does not go in vain and her story lives beyond her lifetime here to continue to shine a light on this nation's history to bring about awareness, education and change moving forward.
You will be a part of providing my nan with the opportunity she deserves to go back to her birthplace on her mother's country in the Northern Territory, where she will journey home for the first time from the place she was forcibly removed to and spent most of her childhood. As she has lived her entire adult life states away this will support the short film about her return home. Time is of the essence with not much of it left for her and her family, we aim to make this journey happen this June 2023.
Your donations of money or expertise to support this truth-telling project will make my grandmother's journey possible and for the children who were stolen to never be forgotten by having these stories continue to be shared for the next generation of people of this nation who stand for the truth and making a change.
