Funding the Ford's Future - In memory of Mark Ford

Donation protected
It is with a heavy heart that we share the loss of Mark C Ford on the late morning of February 20, 2024.

After Mark was diagnosed in late 2020/early 2021 with stage IV glioblastoma multiform, the doctors didn't expect him to make it very long. Boy, did he prove them wrong - he showed everyone just how Ford Tough he was! He said he wanted to live more life with his family, and he did just that. He fought hard to hang on as long as he could, and because of that, he got to share 3 more years of wonderful memories that will hopefully last a lifetime in thoughts and pictures for everyone.

He has left behind his beautiful wife and life, Ginger Grossman Ford, his precious daughter Farrah Fay Ford, 5, of Dallas, TX, and his other sweet daughter Mia Park Ford, 15, of Boston, MA. He has also left behind the rest of his family as well as the most incredible community of friends and peers. His obituary link will be posted here once it is available and is coming soon to papers in Dallas and Houston, TX, and Portland, OR.

Mark's Celebration of Life will be held in Dallas on what would be his 59th birthday, March 15, 2024. All are welcome to attend to share condolences and fun Mark stories with fellow loved ones. Details forthcoming, but if you knew Mark, you know it will be a great celebration of the wonderful life he lived with the wonderful people he loved!

Ginger stepped out of the workforce shortly after Mark started declining to be a full-time caretaker for Mark and their daughter Farrah, and so they could have the best quality of life for what he had left. While they got to make many wonderful memories and he had the best care possible, this also meant depending on disability and other resources that will no longer be available to the family now that Mark is no longer with us.

If you've ever had to figure things out after the loss of a loved one, you know it can get pretty expensive, especially with a young child in the family. If you haven't, count yourself lucky. This fundraiser is to help ease the burden of those expenses for Ginger and Farrah, and to help give Ginger time to rest before she has to rejoin the workforce as a single income mother.

Every penny helps, and if you can't donate funds, please consider sharing this fundraiser so others might help this amazing family, too. There will also be a MealTrain set up to be able to bring or send her food on a schedule so there is less waste or to send her gift cards to order as needed. Link to follow.

Should you prefer to donate directly to the family without the extra fees that come with these fundraising platforms, you may Venmo to Ginger at @Ginger-GFord (last 4 are 2801), or Zelle to her using her phone number if you have it. If you need her number or have questions, please contact me through the 'contact the organizer' button. Facebook no longer allows for personal/community fundraisers, so this will be the only official fundraising platform to donate through.

Thank you all for your generosity and support through this tough time; I know it means so much to the family, and with our support, they will continue to be Ford Tough!
