My name is Sariena Luy, and I am the founder of a grassroots youth-led artist collective known as the Flaunt It Movement. Since December 2016, our work has focused on creating a platform that provides high-quality creative and entrepreneurial resources, opportunities and spaces for 2SLGBTQ+ BIPOC women and gender-diverse youth in Northwest Toronto's low-income neighbourhoods.

As a team of residents from Jane-Finch and different low-income neighbourhoods nearby, we have dedicated our work to actively fundraising to support our residents. However, as a grassroots and unincorporated organization run by youth ages 16-25, we actively seek ways to help sustain our organization.

️In December 2023, we opened the doors to Jane-Finch's first creative coworking Studio, which provides space for local artists and entrepreneurs to develop their crafts, build their portfolios/clientele, collaborate with the community and convene in a local maker space. However, we have been unable to run our model entirely due to space limitations.

️️️With your help, we hope to expand our Studio by leasing the unit next to us, adding another 1500 square feet. This space will allow us to add a kitchen, recording studio, visual arts studio, fully functional coworking space, a larger maker space and another beauty salon.

By donating to our Studio, you support emerging artists and entrepreneurs across the Jane-Finch community, especially amidst our community's rapid gentrification and displacement. The funds will be used to save for our new lease, renovations, programming costs, honorarium for low-income residents and more.

Donations of ANY amount are welcome and sincerely appreciated! By providing your mailing address — we will also send you a thank-you gift. All names will be posted on our GRATITUDE WALL within the new space we hope to open next year.
