Fundraise for Welcome Home Baskets

Assist BARS (Beyond Arrests: Re-Thinking Systematic Oppression) and The Liberation Foundation in creating welcome home baskets for returning citizens in Philadelphia. Previously incarcerated Philadelphians often lack the resources and support needed to transition back into their communities successfully. BARS and The Liberation Foundation seek to ease the burden of reentry by providing welcome home baskets with essentials to Philadelphians returning home. Please help us raise funds to cover the costs of 10 welcome home baskets!

Welcome home baskets include a wallet, toiletries, a grocery store gift card, Septa Key, Reentry Preparation Book, and other necessary items. Each basket is valued at $150, and 100% of your donation will go towards purchasing supplies. The baskets will be distributed this spring.

BARS is an anti-carceral student organization founded at the University of Pennsylvania. The mission of BARS is to foster dialogue about the carcel state among students. The Liberation Foundation (TLF) is a 501 c3 nonprofit organization that advocates for incarcerated and wrongfully convicted Pennsylvanians. You can learn more about TLF here.
