Fundraiser and Memorial in memory of the Old Man
Donation protected
Family and friends - as you’ve probably now heard, Michael Mayerchin passed away from complications with cancer on Wednesday the 25th of January.
We join the chorus of people in NOLA and beyond in feeling the gravity of this loss. Old Man was many things to many people. Our brother, coworker, chef, comedian, and dear friend... he was universally respected and well loved.
He was a legend in the workplace with his hilarious (albeit slightly dark) sense of humor and his late-night help with last call (Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls… the bar is now officially closed. Please overtip your bartender, grab your drinks, and get the <let's just say heck> out!). By far the most fascinating man in any room, he was an avid martial artist with an appreciation for music and a love of literature and comics. But most importantly, his unwavering generosity of spirit, and his goodness to his core meant the world to innumerable people.
A memorial fundraiser will take place at The Holy Ground Irish Pub on Saturday February 5th from 4 - 7pm. A portion of bar sales and all donations will go directly to the family for final expenses. Catering will be provided by Wakin’ Bakin’ and Bayou Wine Garden. Please come out and raise a glass for Old Man’s Last Call.
Funds donated will help cover final services for Old Man. Thank you in advance for anything you can offer.
