Fundraiser for April Henehan

Update:

With your efforts I have raised enough money to resolve all of my outstanding medical and legal debts and have establish a manageable payment plan for continued therapy and treatment moving forward. This is a huge weight that has been lifted and I am truly grateful.

My biggest takeaway from finding the courage to launch this fundraiser was by doing so, I avoided tapping into and using any of the payment received from Progressive's decision to total my car... therefore, eventually I will be able to utilize the entire check received as a down payment towards purchasing a vehicle, something I didn’t think would happen considering the debts that had been lingering for months.

Lastly with the weight of the financial stressors alleviated it has helped me gain a better understanding of my current mental health state which unfortunately needs more attention. While I told myself I was diligently working towards overcoming anxieties and PTSD/trauma, I instead have been leaning heavily on avoidance turning fears into phobias and enabling myself to remain ignorant from the underlying truth... I am holding onto deeply rooted anger and depression from the accident. In the end it is now no longer solely affecting my mental state but manifesting physical symptoms to where the treatment plan my cardiologist and primary recently establish for me was a major reality check.

Someone recently planted a seed during a conversation that I initially did not put much thought into...mental health is physical health. Now, with legal and medical fees no longer a burden, you’ve both provided me a sense of much needed closure but also afforded me the opportunity to better receive and establish a healthier path forward.

I truly can't express enough how much the donations and words of support have meant to me. The past few weeks have been a beautiful reminder that I am not alone and I am loved tremendously. In the end you all have filled my heart and uplifted my spirits in so many ways. I am beyond thankful and words cannot express my love and appreciation for you all.
