In loving Memory of Baby Connor M. Harvey
Donation protected
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Connor Michael Harvey.
Connor was greatly loved and passed with his mom and dad by his side.
All donations will now go toward bringing Connor home to Newfoundland and his memorial service.
Thank you all for your support and donations it meant a lot to Connor's family.
We had hoped that our family would never have to ask this of you but, sadly, things did not go as hoped for Baby Connor and your help is needed.
Many of you may know Megan and Sean had a beautiful baby boy on June 25, 2021 but what you may not have heard is that he was born with a rare condition called congenital diaphragmic hernia. Congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH) occurs when the diaphragm, the muscle that separates the chest from the abdomen, fails to close during prenatal development. This opening allows contents of the abdomen (stomach, intestines and/or liver) to migrate into the chest, impacting the growth and development of the lungs. The lungs will be smaller than expected (pulmonary hypoplasia), and will have less developed blood vessels. This causes high blood pressure in the lungs (pulmonary hypertension).
Connor is a little fighter but he has gone through many trials so far in his short little life and his battle is not over yet. He is still going to need many procedures and prayers to get him through this but we are all hopeful that he will.
Needless to say, this has been an extremely stressful time for Megan and Sean which has been compounded by the fact that they had to temporarily relocate to Toronto before the birth and will have to potentially stay there for a year or so while Connor is treated in Sick Kid’s Hospital. This has meant that they do not have the same extent of emotional support of family and friends that they would otherwise have if they were home in Newfoundland. It has also put an impossible financial burden on this little family. This is where you come in.
While Megan and Sean have been very private about this whole ordeal, they realize that in order for them to get through this they will need financial help. Any support that you can give would go a long way to easing the stress associated with this whole ordeal. They need to focus all of their energies on their beautiful baby boy right now.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and, if you are not in a position to help out at this time, sharing this fundraiser will be a big help and your prayers are still always welcome!
