Fundraiser for Basara Fencing Club

Basara Fencing Club is a new club with the vision to transform the fencing environment in London. It is located in Wembley next to the Wembley Stadium.

Basara is a Japanese word meaning behaviour and aesthetics that transcended class and political borders. It also has another meaning: diamond.

Our mission at Basara is to create a fun environment open to fencers of all ages, backgrounds and abilities.

We welcome able-bodied and wheelchair fencers from all around the world who live or visit London to fence foil and epee, with plans to include sabre in the near future. In this environment, we want to polish the talents of each fencer so they can reach their full potential.

This is what inspiring the next generation is all about: nurturing the next generation and inspiring more people to enjoy fencing both for fun and competition.

The club is founded by international fencing coach, Kenichi Yamamoto.

Kenichi has coached many national and international medalists, including Japanese Wheelchair fencer who has competed at Tokyo Paralympics, Coach for Malaysian Women Junior, Cadet as well as Team Coach at the recent 2022 Commonwealth Fencing Championship.

However, in order to make our vision a reality, we require some help to transform our venue into a fencing centre. Any donations you can make would be greatly appreciated and will go towards:

•repairing, cleaning and painting the centre

•building new changing rooms

•a 3-weapon scoring box
