This GoFundMe campaign is on behalf of Basma. Please see her story below.
My name is Basma.
After the war ended, nothing in our lives remained the same. I lost my entire family — my brothers and their families are gone. We lost our home, our memories, and everything we once had. Now, it’s only me and my elderly parents trying to survive in southern Gaza after being displaced.
Before the war, I worked as a freelance translator and was able to support my family. But the war destroyed our home, my work, and my only source of income.
My father is a retired employee with a very small pension that barely covers his own needs. Recently, he suffered a severe knee fracture, which makes it impossible for him to live in a tent under these harsh conditions. He urgently needs a safe and stable place to recover.
We have already spent everything we had trying to survive displacement. Now, we are desperately seeking to rent a small apartment — somewhere my father can rest and receive care away from the cold, dust, and pain of life in a tent.
Your support, no matter how small, will help us pay for the rent and basic necessities until I can return to work and rebuild our lives.
If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing our campaign — your kindness and support mean more than words can express.
