Fundraiser for Battalion Chief Jon McIvor
Donation protected
Our friend, Battalion Chief Jon McIvor had a biking accident on April 26th and ended up with a spinal injury to C7. He has made tremendous progress in a short amount of time and he is now currently receiving outstanding care and treatment at the Shepard Center in Atlanta, GA. We, his friends, family, fellow firefighters, and neighbors are doing all we can to support Jon and his road to recovery, but could use some help to defray some of the medical costs as he works through his journey to walk again..
Chief McIvor is a 19 year decorated veteran of the Virginia Beach Fire Department. He rose through the ranks as a Firefighter, Nationally Registered Paramedic, Master Firefighter, Instructor, Captain and both operational and administrative Battalion Chief. Jon has been assigned to a variety of stations and locations from county stations to the busiest engine companies in the city. Most recently, Chief McIvor was serving as the Chief of Training. Jon is also the Plans Chief for FEMA Urban Search and Rescue’s Virginia Task Force 2 where he recently deployed to Surfside Miami for a building collapse. Jon is married to his fantastic wife Dannielle and together they have a beautiful 9 year old daughter named Carys.
Thank you all for helping to support Jon and his family. Please stay updated on his progress on Instagram (jtmcivor) and send all the good and positive vibes you can. If you would like to send a card or his favorite…peanut M&Ms, his address is
