Fundraiser for Beth Gilman
Donation protected
Hi Everyone! We wanted to put together this fundraiser to help support Beth Gilman and her family during this extremely difficult time.
I personally have known Mrs. Gilman for many many years now and can honestly say that she is one of my favorite people. She has done so much for me and I know so many others throughout our lives and especially in the field hockey community and now she needs some love and support from us. As many of you know, she has been fighting Metastatic TNBC (Triple Negative Breast Cancer) since 2017. She was diagnosed in October of 2017, went into remission in January of 2019 and then was re-diagnosed in January of 2020. If you know her, you know that she is one of the strongest and most badass people out there and she is going to keep fighting to get through this.
For Thanksgiving a group of us field hockey girls from both Cohasset and Babson put together a video of us all sending her love and positive wishes (video included below). She loved the video and it definitely gave her strength and motivation to keep fighting. It was so amazing to see how many people wanted to be a part of the video - from girls who knew her from when she got Cohasset Field Hockey started back in 2005, to current Cohasset players, to all of Caty's Babson teammates. I already knew that so many people loved Mrs. Gilman, but the turnout of the video made me realize how many people's lives she has impacted and how many of us want to help her in any way that we can.
That is why I have created this fundraiser, for all of us to do what we can to help her and her family get through this. I'd love to take some of the financial burden off of the Gilman family. The medical costs associated with cancer treatments are exceptionally high and are an added stress during this already difficult time.
Caty and Marie also mentioned that their mom has been wanting to do a big family trip for years. Of course Covid-19 is not helping that right now, but I think some of the money we fundraise could help make this happen down the road!
Anything you can do to help would mean the world. A $5 donation, a $100 donation or even just sending her a text to let her know you are thinking of her.
I truly believe that if we all come together we can help raise money and help raise her spirits.
Thank you all so much!
