Bianca’s fight against brain cancer

They say that charity begins at home so this year for my birthday I’m asking for your help supporting someone close to my heart….my daughter. In December 2023 Bianca underwent extensive surgery to remove a brain tumour from her right frontal lobe and then started physiotherapy to regain her strength on her left side followed by aggressive chemotherapy and radiation starting February 1. This is her third and by far the most aggressive and extensive battle with cancer she will endure during her short 26 years of life.

She was laid off from her position with CRA in June 2023 and not able to return when recalled on January 8, 2024 due to her treatments and healing process. This lapse in employment has left her with no benefits to cover medical and additional costs for expenses incurred.

In addition to her personal living expenses she must shoulder the costs of multiple essential prescriptions for meds. and physiotherapy as well as daily parking at the hospital which is located 45 minutes from home which also increases the costs for automobile fuel.

Currently she is surviving on medical EI which is quickly coming to an end. This of course has increased her stress levels at a time when it’s important to prevent any additional stressors in her life.

Our family will be eternally grateful for any support whether large or small to help her endure this battle for survival.
