Fundraiser for Bill Jack
Donation protected
I have been friends with Bill for eight years and have always known him to be a caring and selfless individual. Anyone that knows Bill will tell you that he is an upbeat and optimistic guy and always puts others' needs before his own. Unfortunately, Bill was already dealing with the results of a horrific accident and now the unimaginable has occurred, he has lost his home and all of his belongings. He desperately needs our help.
On June 8, 2022 Bill was hit by a semi-truck. He spent several months in the hospital recovering and has been undergoing intense rehabilitation for the past year. He has made good progress, however, his physician recently advised him that he will not be able to return to work anytime soon, if ever.
On August 18, 2023 the Lake Okanagan Resort, where Bill resided, burned down. True to his character, Bill spent the last moments at his home helping his 80-year-old neighbour gather her cats, as she refused to leave without them. He then helped an additional neighbour who was struggling to leave, as he is disabled. Bill left with the clothes on his back and very little else. There was no time left to collect his items. He lost everything.
To make matters even worse, Bill was recently denied renewal of his home insurance policy due to the previous fire activity in the area so he does not have coverage.
Despite all of this tragedy, somehow Bill remains in good spirits and is grateful just to be alive. My goal is to be able to raise funds to help Bill get through this extremely difficult time and get back on his feet and eventually rebuild his life. The funds will be used for the bare essentials - food, shelter, clothing and vehicle maintenance to continue his physio and other treatments. Please find it in your heart to help this incredible man who has selflessly helped so many others in the past.
Your support is greatly needed and appreciated.
Thank you so much.
