Fundraiser for billie

Hi, I am fundraising for a sensory and washroom for my autistic son. My son is now 17 and has autism, OCD, severe anxiety and mental health issues including suicidal ideation. For this reason, I am keeping our identity private and I am changing his name. I hope you can understand why that would be important. Billy has always struggled and although I asked for help many times, his diagnosis was missed. I was told he just had bad anxiety and that I had to implement strategies and boundaries. We live in a 3 bed semi-detached house and space is a huge problem. A really big issue is showering. Sensory issues are huge and when combined with OCD, sharing one shower for all the family is so distressing for him. He often goes weeks without showering.. When he does shower, it has to have been cleaned from top to bottom and everything removed from the room and shower. He could then be in the room for an hour, emptied the tank and burnt out many showers... This room would literally be life changing for us all. This would allow Billy so much freedom to grow and learn new skills and become more independent. The adaptation grant is a blessing but unfortunately, in today's climate, the cost of building has gone up so much, that it is not enough. We are trying to raise €14,750.00 to complete the project. It has been such a long road and I am so proud of how hard my son has fought to stay alive. I am standing up for him now, to show him that even though some things may seem impossible, they can be achieved, if you keep going and don't give up.
