Fundraiser for Callum's Service Dog
This is a fundraiser to aquire the funds to get Callum a service dog.
Callum is Matt and Ashley’s 2 year old son. He was born with Pallister Killian Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder with only a few hundred cases documented. PKS causes developmental delays and cognitive disabilities, among many other challenges like seizures.
Callum started having seizures in November of 2024 at the age of 18 months. His seizures happen when he is waking up from sleep, so unless someone is with him, it’s hard to know when and how long they are happening. While Callum is on medications to help, they don't fully prevent them. The fear of not being able to recognize a seizure if Callum is napping in another room or sleeping at night is a constant worry. These service dogs are trained to detect seizures by sensing subtle changes in the body before a seizure occurs.
Callum is the youngest child with a 9 y/o sister and a 7y/o bother, both whom are amazing healthcare helpers.
The cost of getting a trained dog is significant so we are asking for help in raising the funds needed. Any help is appreciated and gets us that much closer to a service dog for Callum!
