Fundraiser for Can I Play That?
Donation protected
At Can I Play That? we aim to bring disabled gamers into the game accessibility conversation by featuring original content from, you guessed it, disabled gamers! After all, who better to comment on and educate about accessibility in games than those who rely on it?
Our publication launched in November 2018 and we've already featured work from a small but diverse group covering topics ranging from Deaf accessibility and controller modifications to physical accessibility and games as therapy.
We have a Patreon with a devoted following, so why are we here on GoFundMe? We have some larger goals we'd like to reach.
1. We want to be able to pay everyone that has contributed already.
2. We want to establish a fund through which we can pay future contributors.
3. We want to be able to release special quarterly issues that feature multiple perspectives on one major game released during that quarter (Think, for example, an issue all about Spider-Man with an array of accessibility reviews and original commentary on all it did right and what it could have done better in accessibility).
That's where you, our supporters come in. We can do the work we do only because of your support and we'd like to be able to give you even more and even better accessibility-focused content.
This fund will allow us to seek out new and established talent within the #a11y community and feature their work while paying them a fair rate for their contribution and the more content we can publish, the more improvement we will see in accessibility in the game industry.
We are so grateful for your support and it means the world to us that we've already got such a strong following being a relatively new site. We hope you enjoy the content we will continue to bring you.
