Fundraiser for Celine Jensen

Hi everyone,

 

My amazing, incredibly kind, loving, sister, Celine, has been going through an extremely tough time after suffering a traumatic brain injury / severe concussion which has totally thrown her world upside down. More recently, in 2021, she has experienced severe regressions, and a functional decline which has resulted in her being at very high risk and needing a high level of medical care, and family support/full-time care—due to extreme weight loss, and immense impacts on her neurological functioning.

 

My family has done everything in the world we can possibly think of at this point, in terms of support, medical attention, and treatments—and though we know healing isn't linear we're struggling with the next steps. 

If you know Celine, you know that she is one of the smartest, hardest working people you'll meet, who loves to travel the world, dance all night, hike the highest mountains and dream of the next adventure. She's also someone who appreciates every little thing and never asks for anything in return. She is kind beyond words and we all want her back.

 

Right now we're exploring a collection of possible treatments to help support her healing and hopefully get her back on her feet. At this point, she (and we) are struggling to fund the treatments she needs to support her healing—especially since she is unable to work.

 

I've had a tough time with the thought of reaching out to loved ones and wider networks for months now—especially with so much going on in our backyard here in BC, and the world at large. There are so many people struggling and there are so many important causes to support. So with that being said, we have no expectations and there is no pressure. And if you are able to donate to help her, please know that any small amount is so greatly appreciated. I'd also be so interested to hear of other people's journeys with healing the brain from injury—and any recommendations you may have around next steps and possible treatment options would be incredibly helpful and insightful for us.
