Fundraiser for (Coach) Howie Atwell

As many of you may know, Howie suffered an injury to his foot/ankle at work in June of 2022. After many months of misdiagnosis, he was ultimately correctly diagnosed with a fracture and required a fusion surgery, which he had in February of 2023. Again, after many months of non-weight bearing, multiple casts, a boot and resuming Physical Therapy, his progress stopped due to increasing pain. Over one year post-injury and a CT scan, we have recently received the news that the fusion did not fully heal and he will be having a second more involved fusion surgery on October 18th. While we are grateful for the funds provided through Workers' Compensation, the loss of over half of his income as a Local Union 420 Steamfitter, has taken it's toll on our family and we are struggling financially. It is with great humility that we post this Go Fund Me, after much thought and exploration of other options to help support our family. However, with a second surgery coming next week and the prospect of another several months of rehabilitation ahead, we had to be realistic and know that it was time to look toward our village for assistance. We are forever grateful to anyone who is able to donate and as always will look to pay it forward once we are through this challenging time.
