Fundraiser for Devin Taquino's Funeral Expenses

Devin was a man who absolutely loved his family. There are no circumstances in which he would ever put any of us in danger if he was able to avoid it. Like so many people, we never thought this horrible virus could ever impact us.

Devin wasn't feeling well from what we thought was an intestinal issue. We had no clue it was his first symptom of COVID-19. It was only a few days later when he started coughing that we began to worry and went to get tested. He was sent to the hospital immediately because his oxygen levels were so low. He was admitted into the hospital on Wednesday March 25. Devin's wife Becky was able to speak to him occasionally throughout his stay, as his breathing allowed. By Sunday, March 29, he was put on a ventilator as there had been no improvement. His condition steadily declined until he passed away on April 10, after more than two weeks in the hospital.

Our family never got to see him again after he was dropped off at the hospital. Becky says that she feels she now has to live with their last conversation being about Gatorade. The family didn't know that Devin's condition would worsen and he would be put on a ventilator just a couple hours later. His wife and children did not get to say goodbye to him or tell him how much they loved him while he was awake to hear them.

Devin was an incredible human being who was loved by a tremendous amount of people. He made a huge impact on so many lives. He was creative, fun loving, and adventure seeking. He was a larger than life character with a big teddy bear heart. His love of music and video games drew people to him from all over the world. If you were Devin's friend, you were a lifelong friend. He is already missed by so many people who will never be able to fill the hole his passing has left in their lives.
