Fundraiser for Emery Rose Jarrell

Hi, my name is Rena Tuten.

I have started this GoFundMe for my niece Emery Rose Jarrell.

February 22, it was a normal morning for Hunter and Lauren. When they woke up, 11 week old Emery was unconscious and pale and lifeless. They rushed her to Easley Baptist Hospital. Easley Baptist stabilized Emery, and transported her Greenville Memorial Hospital. After arriving at Greenville Memorial, the doctors worked hard to find out that she had Covid & RSV along with cardiomyopathy. Her heart was only working at 6%. It is supposed to be above 40% any below is in heart failure. Now the real question was, what caused this in a 11 week old infant. After diagnosing Emery with Cardiomyopathy, they flew her to MUSC children’s hospital in Charleston, SC. Since February 23, they have been at MUSC looking for answers, trying to find out what would have caused this. As of March 29, her heart is functioning at a 16% ejection fraction when it is supposed to be above 40%. She is on a PICC line with milrinone that is helping her heart pump as of now.

They are scheduled to go home today with strict rules to quarantine & she has to carry her PICC line in a bookbag until they can find a diagnosis for Emery. Any sickness could be detrimental to Emory’s life.

They also have a 5 Year old son, along with Emery who they are both caring for together.

Lauren has had to take a huge pay cut and Hunter lost his job while staying with Emery and quarantining until they can figure out a 100% diagnosis for Emery Condition.

Any donations would be helpful to help pay bills, Medical Supplies, buy grocery, gas to travel from Easley to Charleston every week, and to get them by in every life while trying to care for a sick child.
