Fundraiser for Ezra Rosario and family

Our family is asking for your prayers, positive vibes, and support for our dear Ezra. On Sunday, November 6th, Ezra was involved in a drowning accident while we were celebrating their 3rd birthday at a resort here in the Philippines. As soon as he was found unresponsive and floating lifeless in the water, family members performed CPR and was able to revive him within 2 minutes. We rushed him to the ER at the provincial hospital and from there, life-saving measures were done to stabilize him.

Unfortunately, he needed to be intubated and sedated but from there, we saw signs of improvement as our little man is never short of being a strong fighter. His doctors and nurses were the best in the area but unfortunately, he also needed equipment and level of care that can be provided only in Manila where there are better facilities and services.

Our family was able to immediately secure a private charter plane and med air team (doctor, RT, and nurse) to airlift us to Manila so that he can be transferred to St. Luke’s Medical Center.

Unfortunately, upon arrival in Manila, due to the risk of transporting him in his condition, Ezra crashed while being stabilized at the PICU. They performed CPR on him and gave him 15 doses of epinephrine for 45 minutes until his pulse was restored. They had to reinsert all his IV lines and reintubate him as they all came out during the transport. He is finally stable and resting. So far, he has a swollen liver and heart is yet to be assessed. His kidneys are currently normal. His brain has yet to be assessed as well. His temperature has spiked up to 40 degrees (104) so they are trying to find the infection.

The kind doctors and staff of St. Luke’s allowed us to stay in a room close to him in the meantime so that we can have easier access to him. He is currently in the PICU and we are only able to check on him by phone or visit for 1 hour (twice a day) so he can focus on healing and to lessen the stress on him.

Ezra is our brave, strong fighter, but he is also our baby boy. Please, please continue to pray for him and his recovery. Please pray that he makes it through this and that we ALL get through this. We believe in miracles, as we’ve witnessed it through our son in the past 48 hours.

We are so sorry to those who are only finding out now, as we have been up round the clock just focused on him. We thank everyone who has reached out, visited and checked on us, and those who’ve offered prayers and masses for him and we apologize if we cannot respond right away. Since this event, JC and I have been focused on Ezra’s healing and as his parents, but we’ve also honestly been hard on ourselves as to how we allowed this to happen. Ezra is our baby boy who we deeply love, and it has been very hard for us to accept that this accident happened.

Most of all, thank you for our family who’ve graciously lifted us up during this horrible nightmare. We are truly grateful for your love and support and guidance. Thank you for using all your resources to ensure we are able to give Ezra his best possible fighting chance. Thank you for taking care of Elijah and entertaining him as we wait for our dear Ezra to come back home to us.

We’ve been asked a lot about financial support, This GoFundMe is meant to be a central place for folks wanting to contribute, donate, and support us financially during this tragic time. Life saving measures cost so much as well as other logistics including finding a temporary place to stay while Ezra is still at St. Luke’s. Ezra is attended by a team of at least five specialists, needing round the clock critical care in the PICU and on a lot of medications.

We will only focus on his healing and nothing more. We have also decided to stay take our time and stay here in the Philippines until he is fully recovered. We will try to keep everyone updated but for now, please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

Thank you
