Fundraiser for Gaza Ceasefire Pilgrimage - HSV
We are raising money to benefit Churches for Middle East Peace while we walk with people around the world on the Gaza Ceasefire Pilgrimage.
More information about CMEP can be found here: https://cmep.org/
The Gaza Ceasefire Pilgrimage is a network of autonomous Christian groups with shared convictions who are engaging in a prayerful show of solidarity in cities around the world, where people during Lent will walk the length of the Gaza strip (approx 25 miles).

During the period of Lent, we are encouraging those in Huntsville, Alabama to walk in prayerful solidarity for the more than 30,000 killed since October 7 on your own time, leading up to our group walk. Then on March 23, we will come together to walk the final 2.5 miles together.
We plan to gather at Big Spring Park by the fountain at 9am. This is also where we will end. Details about our route will be posted shortly.
What is a Pilgrimage?
A pilgrimage is a sacred journey, a prayer with one's body - be it by foot, or wheelchair, or on an animal - to a destination with the desire to turn one's heart to God, and share in God's heart for all of creation, particularly the vulnerable.
Our demands:
1. Enduring and Sustained Ceasefire.
2. Immediate flow of life saving food, water, aid, fuel, and
humanitarian assistance.
3. Release of all hostages - both the Israeli hostages held by
Hamas and the Palestinian hostages held in Israeli prison
system.
4. End of occupation so a just-peace can begin.
Why do we walk?
As disciples of Christ, we are called to love our enemies, seek justice, and serve as reconcilers of conflict. We engage in the Gaza Ceasefire Pilgrimage as an act of repentance. On behalf of ourselves, our churches, and our nations. Both the sins of omission in not standing with the Palestinian people, or in the sins of commission where there has been active support for what experts overwhelmingly identify genocidal intent in the ongoing war on Gaza.
We hope that Muslim and Jewish friends, or people from any faith, or no faith who are committed to the above would feel welcome to join us.
Any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to us.
More information about Churches for Middle East Peace: Beginning in '84, CMEP is a coalition of more than 30 national Church communions and organizations. We believe that the policy perspectives and experience in the Middle East of our member communions and organizations should be better known and directly influence U.S. foreign policy. Our work is based on the understanding that sound and holistic U.S. policy is crucial to achieving and maintaining just and stable relationships in the Middle East.
