Fundraiser for Jared and Baley Smith

This fundraiser is being held on behalf of Jared and Baley Smith. As many are already aware, in January of this year Baley was awoken during the night by Jared having the first of two seizures. With no previous history of seizures, he was transported to the Emergency room by ambulance for treatment. While there, a mass was discovered on Jared’s brain. After being transferred to UMMC in Jackson, an MRI confirmed the presence and exact location of the tumor.

On May 1, Jared had surgery to remove the tumor. He will meet with doctors in the coming weeks to line out his treatment plan. We are still unsure what this plan will consist of and are entering some very uncharted territories for our family.

With Jared being out of work for recovery and upcoming treatments, on top of the sizable medical bills that will be coming soon, we want to carry some of the weight for this family. Let’s stand together with them, arm in arm and show them that though this journey may often feel unbearable, they have an abundance of family and friends behind them, ready to support them emotionally, financially and most important, prayerfully.

The one thing we are sure of, is that God is in control of this situation. GOD has written Jared’s story, not man. He has handpicked him. Set him apart. He has a plan and a purpose for Jared’s life, and while we may not understand now what He is doing, we trust that it will be for His glory and our good.
