Fundraiser for John and Melinda After the Flood

July 8th Arlington County, Virginia, specifically the Westover neighborhood, experienced flooding like this area hadn't seen before. John DeMarce and Melinda Root live in what essentially became a collecting pool at the bottom of the hill. They have lost everything in their basement where John had a woodworking studio, not to mention the hot water heater, HVAC system and washer and dryer. On the main level the water rose to almost two feet. They will have to replace their kitchen, the electrical wiring, floors, drywall and possibly even foundation repair and insurance is not covering anything.

John and Melinda spend their lives taking care of others and it is now our turn to take care of them. In the coming days and months they are going to need everything just to get back to normal.
