Fundraiser for Lainney Obenshain

Hey friends and family,

I’m here to please ask for help for my friend Lainney Obenshain. Lainney is 21 years old and has been a client and friend since she was around 12 years old. We cried together when she lost her mother and here we are a year later doing the same as her father passes away. Lainney is being forced to grow up quickly and is now responsible for the family finances. My hope is to raise enough to help her find her own apartment, pay some bills and allow for time to grieve. Lainney and other members of her family have all been clients of mine for around 10 years. She has babysat my kids, and the kids love her. I’ve gotten Lainney ready for her school dances, some special parties or celebrations and shared many laughs while painting her nails.

I love her. She is so fun, with such a great heart. I’ve been there with her through her mother’s cancer battle and losing that battle. Then not too long after she passed away, Lainney’s Dad was diagnosed with cancer as well.

I know, I know….

How does this happen to one family?!? That I don’t know, it’s hard to wrap my brain around. Mike Obenshain is currently losing his battle to cancer.

So, Lainney’s life is upside down right now. She is trying everyday to navigate what her life will be like now without her parents to guide her. Needing to find a new place to live, continue her education, her full time job, take care of their dog Oliver and maybe try to have some time to actually be a 21 year old girl.

Finances are the biggest obstacle in life right now for Lainney, and a constant worry as to how she is going to pay for a lot of things during this time of grief and sorrow.
