Fundraiser for Mark McAdam
Donation protected
*Update: As of the 13th of June, Mark continues to receive 24hr care in ICU and has since had to undergo further operations. He is still in a critical but stable condition.*
Hi there.
My name is Mitchell, step son to Mark McAdam.
My two sisters Caitlyn and Sienna plus extended family have expressed the idea to raise some much needed funds for Mark.
Some of you may know Mark McAdam as he has been a Ulladulla local for 50 years.
He is a local self employed painter having worked with and along side many people throughout the Milton/Ulladulla area.
He holds his work to a high regard and has earned a professional reputation to be desired.
He is a family man, enjoys spending time with his mates, playing golf, going fishing and watching his mighty Roosters play.
As some of you may or may not know. On Tuesday the 21st of May, Mark got home from work and collapsed.
He was rushed to Shoalhaven Hospital showing symptoms of a suspected heart attack.
That evening he was airlifted to hospital in Sydney in a critical condition.
Fearing the worst the whole family rushed to be by his side.
He was then diagnosed with a Type A aortic dissection - in simpler terms a tear in the main artery of the heart.
He has since undergone multiple open heart operations, of which at this stage have been a success. Although we received more news that as a complication, he had a stoke leaving him with paralysis of his left side of his body.
For the past week since the ordeal. All the family have been back and forth from Sydney as much as possible to be by his side.
He is in ICU receiving 24 hour care, and up until the 28/05/2024 he was fully intubated.
We then received positive news that they were able to lower the sedation and he was able to breathe on his own.
Although, on the 30/05/2024 he had further complications and has had to be operated on once more leaving him having to start the recovery process all over again.
To summarise the severity of the situation, he is extremely fortunate to be alive, and with the possibility of more hurdles it will be a painstaking road to recovery with many more weeks, months or even years. All in all, his life and the families life will never be the same.
We are asking for donations to go towards any future medical costs, rehabilitation, and to assist with all other life expenses.
Every dollar counts, we all would be extremely grateful.
Let’s help get Mark home and back on his feet.
Thank you!
