“Ok here it goes…

In early July Matt started to get headaches and soon after had moments where his legs gave out and he would fall. He started seeing the family doc and got meds. The headaches got worse and more pressure, so more meds and we pushed for CT or MRI. He had an MRI on Thursday September 3rd and he was admitted to Sparrow Lansing right away. He was scheduled to have a brain tumor removed Friday morning from his right frontal lobe.

Yah, no joke! Crazy.”

Matt had the tumor removed on September 4th and came home from the hospital on the 11th. He has more than 50 stitches on his skull from the surgery. The doctors say the tumor was malignant and they were able to remove 97% of it (which is really good news!). Next, Matt and Miranda are getting ready for chemo and radiation to get the other 3% that’s left.

While Matt recovers, he is on medical leave from his job at Mary Free Bed Orthotics & Prosthetics. We are hoping to raise some funds for him and Miranda to help with bills, medical expenses, and anything else they might need during his recovery. Thank you so much for any help you can provide!
