Fundraiser for Maynooth Festival of Palestinian Culture

Students and staff in Maynooth University are organising a Festival of Palestinian Culture on campus and in the town this Spring. The Festival runs from Monday 7 to Thursday 10 April and you can find more details here. Various departments and institutes have kindly agreed to cover costs like travel, accommodation and meals. However, if we are to pay the Palestinian performers adequately, as well as cover the many incidental expenses involved in a multi-event project like this, we need more funds.

And that's where you come in. We are asking colleagues on campus (and their friends) to support the Festival so that we hit the ground running and lay the groundwork for similar projects in the future. If you are earning less than the average wage in the greater Dublin area (€46k), we are not asking you to contribute. But if you earn more, we would appreciate a generous donation to support what will be an exciting few days of culture on campus, and off.

With fundraisers, people are often unsure what is an appropriate amount to donate. So we have provided suggestions here:

If you are a Professor, please donate €50

If you are a Senior Lecturer (Associate Prof), please donate €35

If you are a Lecturer (Assistant Prof), please donate €25

These are, of course, just indicative amounts, so feel free to give more, or less, if you wish.
