Fundraiser for Michael Richard Arevalo

Hello everyone, my name is Daniel Arevalo. Michael is my younger brother. On Saturday December 17th, 2022 Mikey left this world on his own terms. The outpouring of love he has received since then has been breathtaking.

If you know Mikey, you’ll know words on a page do little to describe him. Every moment spent with him ended up in laughter — somehow, some way. He could make anything hilarious. It was just his way. Where he worked, FDNY Fleet Services, he quickly ascended to the position of Supervisor of Mechanics. A car fanatic, a relentlessly hard-worker, a driving force of spirituality in everyone’s lives. There are no words that have the ability to describe the emptiness inside our hearts knowing that he is no longer with us.

He leaves behind him his one year old son Hunter, his mother Karen, his younger sisters Emma and Sara, his older brother Daniel, and a life-long list of friends and extended family that he’s touched with his unequivocally contagious energy and spirit.

We’re not very good at this type of thing — accepting things like this, we mean. But it has come to our attention that there were a few individuals who wanted to express their love for Mikey this way. Any funds received initially are intended to offset funeral costs.

Nothing is expected, but anything is appreciated. From the very bottom of our hearts, the Arevalo family is sincerely moved by all of the love and support that has been shown since Mikey’s passing. May we all grieve together and remember his life in the same captivating way he touched ours. Peace and love to everybody.
