Fundraiser for Much-Needed Surgery for Mellie

Anyone and everyone close with Mellie knows that she has suffered with severe back issues for many years!

Unfortunately, things are progressively getting worse and she is now in a situation where she cannot even stand up straight or walk but a few steps before having to stop and sit. Nothing takes the pain or difficulties away no matter if she walks, stands, sits or even lays. She has even gotten to the point that if she goes on any outing with family that requires a lot of walking, she has to use a wheelchair.

She now needs help more than ever! With no health insurance offered at her job because of part time status and her regular doctor deciding to shut down their office, she desperately needs this specialist to begin the steps to get the surgery needed to fix her back issues!

After 16 years working at Acme, she was let go because she had to periodically sit due to her pain and they felt that she was no longer able to perform her duties even though she never had issues finishing her work and never had a disciplinary action against her in 16 years. She fought hard to keep it however they decided to suddenly let her go causing her to LOOSE her insurance. She wasted no time, despite her medical issues, and is back to work employed with the Delaware River and Bay Authority however it’s a part time position where insurance is not offered.

With that being said, we are trying to help raise money so she can be able to afford to see a specialist who can, God willing, do a surgical procedure that could help her no longer having the issues she is having and get back to a normal life!

Any amount will be extremely helpful, whether $1 or $0.50. It is understandable that times are tough so anything would be greatly appreciated!

Unfortunately, another specialist has expressed to Mellie that if she does not seek this surgery soon, she has a high risk of not being able to walk at all.
