John's Disagreement with DSRCT (Rare sarcoma)
Donation protected
This has been approved by our son, John Griffith. For those of you just finding this out, previous silence on this matter was at the request of our son, a very private person, until now. Every mother's greatest fear is to find out that their child has cancer. Whether they be 7 years old or like John, 27. Your child will always be your heart, your life. That's why I have created this page. In the middle of November, he was found to have a large mass in his abdomen. That same night he was transported to Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas. It took two weeks of him being in the hospital for multiple tests to be performed. The worst part for all of us was " the not knowing". Several days later John was flown to another hospital in Phoenix where a diagnosis was finally reached. Its called desmoplastic small round cell tumor. Its a very rare cancer that as far we know, approximately 200 individuals have been diagnosed with this. From what I have been able to find out this happens to boys between the ages of 10 - 30, John is 27. We thought that finding out he has cancer was the worst part, but it was the chemo infusions robbing him of his energy and giving him constant nausea on top of that. This tore at me and as a mother, I feel helpless. Creating this Go Fund Me is one thing that I can do for my son. He has not been able to work since mid November and that will continue for an unspecified amount of time. Because of this, bills are adding up quickly for him. I humbly ask any and all who read this to please consider donating to our son to help him in this journey. If this is not an option for you, I ask that you please pray for him. Thank you so much!
