Fundraiser for Nikita's Medical Expenses

I have started this gofundme account for my dear friend Nikita as he was recently hit with $9,044 in medical bills!

What happened? Well, earlier this month he went skiing at Big White (Kelowna, BC) and then while skiing he flew off the ski hill and into traffic. He says he was extremely lucky that I didn’t fall on a car or wasn’t run over. However, this ski accident was significant, as he broke his left leg and his femur in 3 places. He just became BC resident and was about to apply for health card when it happened, so he was not covered, but he had international traveler insurance. While in the hospital, on pain medication, he talked to his health insurance company and told them too much information. Unfortunately, they refused his claim and so he now owes the hospital thousands of dollars ($9,044). But a misfortune never comes alone. When he was evacuated by ambulance from the mountain, his ex-girlfriend was trying to drive his car and burned clutch, which is an expensive repair and cost him another couple of thousand dollars. He won’t be able to work another 6 weeks and has no one to take care of him. Nikita appreciates all the support he can get to help him pay these medical bills or simply to sustain his living until he can walk again.
