Fundraiser for Renee Moore

Renee Moore is a beautiful, young active woman with 2 boys aged 10 and 13. She is a familiar face here on the shore. You may know her as the friendly Realtor at The Moore Team of Keller Williams. You may know her from Universal Supply Company where she works as a Kitchen Designer. But many of you may know her from the running community. Renee is an avid runner- participating in races of all lengths including 5K’s, half marathons and even 8 hr races like the Algonquin 50K! Most recently, she participated in the Pemberton 24 where there was a 5K every hour on the hour for 24 hrs and she did an amazing 18 of the 24- a total of 57 miles!! But all of that has come to a screeching halt.

Last Friday night, 9/30, Renee was in Ocean City where her angry boyfriend hit her in the left eye - knocking her out. EMS arrived on the scene and she was taken to JHH for surgery on her eye due to the extensive internal damage. She is currently unable to open her left eye or see out of it. At this time, the doctors are uncertain if she will be able to regain sight in her left eye. In the coming weeks, she will have medical follow ups at Johns Hopkins and will need a second surgery in the near future! Our hearts go out to her during this difficult time, especially as she is unable to provide income for her family, run or enjoy life as she usually does!
