Fundraiser for South South Movement

Hi, my name is Antonio. I'm fundraising for the South/South Movement, a transnational student-led collective claiming space for academics and activists from and for the global souths.

Since 2021, we have organised a wide range of community events and projects invested in questioning Eurocentric and colonial/modern knowledge regimes in social and political studies. In doing so, we have opened up spaces for conversations that are often gagged, ignored, or sidelined inside the ivory tower. Our initiatives have always been free and open to the public.

As an independent collective, we operate without any financial backing from any university or formal funding body whatsoever, and our work is powered by volunteer doctoral students in increasingly precarious conditions. We have so far covered any running costs (mainly website-related) out of our own pockets. However, this is no longer sustainable as our collective continues to build up.

Your donations will keep South/South Movement's website running for the next five years. This will ensure that publications and resources hosted on our website remain widely accessible. If we receive sufficient funding, we will also consider hiring a basic emailing service platform to help streamline and manage communications with our growing community of 1,000+ fellow travellers from all over the world. We will document all expenses transparently on our website.
