Baby Swampy

Many of you know Swampy, real name: Chris Garrett. He is well known for his years -long record of volunteer work and service with the most prestigious units within the Ukraine theater. In February 2022, he again left behind his comfortable, familiar life (incIuding his beloved Belgian Malinois) and returned to Ukraine. Swampy spent the last year leading teams of EOD techs, initially working north of Kyiv during followed by a long list of engagements in the direction of Soledar, Chasiv Yar and Bakhmut.

A few weeks ago, Chris found out that he is going to be a FATHER. This news, at the end of a very long and difficult year in Ukraine, has necessitated a return to the UK. On one hand, we are relieved that he is home so he can take time to process the things he has witnessed during this unprecedented year. On the other hand we are concerned for him and the steps ahead, to simultaneously heal AND  prepare and provide for the arrival of BABY Swampy. Chris served nearly the entirety of this past year as an UNPAID volunteer, depleting all personal cash reserves early in the war and relying on consistently rallying support from family and friends to fund equipment and operational costs for his teams and colleagues operating along the front line.
