EARTHQUAKE FUNDRAISER FOR TAAZOR - مؤسسة تآزر للتنمية

Nearly two months ago, two earthquakes tragically killed over 50,000 people throughout Syria and Türkiye, with over 100,000 injured. The earthquakes are estimated to have directly impacted 26 million people across Syria and Türkiye, with hundreds of thousands of people now living in desperate conditions, lacking adequate shelter, food, clean water, sanitation, and more.

Planet Wax and Pollination are joining forces with some of London’s finest selectors to host a 12-hour event, raising donations for Syrian NGO, Taazor – Synergy for Development, who are working to support survivors and contribute to the rebuilding process in Syria.

Synergy for Development (Taazor - مؤسسة تآزر للتنمية) was established and registered in Syria. It was amongst the first NGOs in Syria to respond to the earthquake crisis.

Their intervention in responding to the earthquake was divided into emergency response – mid-term response - long term response. Responses are based on rapid needs assessment deducted in the affected areas on the ground.

Project focus areas:

1 - Providing cash assistance to the effected families to meet their basic needs, including rent payments in instances where they are unable to return to their homes.

2 - In coordination with the Governorate and the engineering syndicates in the affected areas - providing technical assessment of the damaged buildings, to understand what engineering work should be provided to those buildings, to enable families to return to their homes.

3- Responding to the shortage of fuel and electricity, Tazoor are providing the shelters with solar power stations to provide the necessary lighting and charging of mobiles, electronics, etc.

4 - Providing the shelters with PSS and medical teams, to offer the families and the beneficiaries in the shelters with their needs, including Phsico social support, trauma healing, and light medical support.

On their long-term response, Tazoor will be considering livelihood projects, small grants, contributing to the repair of damaged stores and business, and the rebuild and reinforcement of damaged buildings.
