Hello friends and family - Many of you have wondered how you can help. The Bullis family has two critical needs right now.
Will you support Garrett’s healing journey with fervent prayer?
God is moving in Garrett’s life. We have already seen remarkable improvement since his accident. Please lift Garrett’s name to our King’s ears as often as possible. Please also share Garrett's story with every prayer warrior you know.
“Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: is there anything too hard for me?” -Jeremiah 32:27
Will you support Garrett's healing journey financially?
Garrett has been hospitalized since October 16 and will continue in-patient for six weeks, with at least six more weeks of outpatient therapy to follow. The insurance company estimates $40,000 of out-of-pocket expenses. Please be God’s hands and feet and support Garrett’s rehabilitation. Anything you can spare is greatly appreciated. Please also share this campaign with a personal plea for your friends to help our Garrett. Update: Between this fundraiser and others, we're 75% of the way there!!! Thank you all so much!
What Happened & How Garrett is Doing:
On October 16, after finishing a motocross race, another rider landed on Garrett’s head with the full force of his bike and body. Garrett was airlifted to the closest hospital equipped for his injuries. There he was stabilized and then transported to the Shepherd Center in Atlanta. They specialize in traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries.
Garrett has a diffuse axonal injury, one of the most severe types of traumatic brain injury. It occurs when the brain is shaken or twisted inside the skull. As the brain twists, the cerebral tissue slides back and forth until the long connecting fibers in the brain (called axons) tear. These tears disrupt messages that neurons send, resulting in loss of function.
Garrett’s rehabilitation has already begun. He is off the ventilator and breathing on his own. He is alert and he can move, although he cannot move on command yet. Garrett is just 18 years old with his whole life ahead of him. Right now, he's working hard every day to re-learn even the most basic skills like eating, walking, talking, and thinking. Garrett’s injury is serious, but recovery is possible with even the most severe brain injuries, and his progress has already been tremendous. Praise God! Praise God!
Please help us support Garrett’s healing journey. The Bullis family needs your support.
