Fundraiser for TMP’s Matilda the Musical

Hello! My name is Myleah and I am the director of this summer’s musical Matilda. I am raising funds to help pay for some of the production costs including lighting, orchestra, props, set and costumes. Timothy Murphy Playhouse is a non-profit community theatre group that has been doing summer musicals since 1994. Our casts and crews are made up of children and adults from Schoharie, Greene, Albany and Schenectady counties.

Like so many other organizations, Covid had a big impact on our group. We were unable to do a summer musical in 2020 or 2021. Nevertheless, TMP was determined to keep the arts alive and deliver a musical escape to our community. Because we knew Covid was financially hurting so many, in 2021 we opted for a free outdoor summer cabaret, relying solely on door donations. In 2022 ,we were able to produce a junior musical, Beauty and the Beast, which was a shorter, kids only version of its full length counterpart. This year, we desperately wanted to get back to producing full-length shows, with kids and adults, as well as live musicians. However, full-length productions are typically pricier, so together with other fundraising efforts, we humbly ask our community for help.
